Track Of The Day: Natural Wonders Every Child Should Know – Pet Shop Boys

updated on Leave a Comment on Track Of The Day: Natural Wonders Every Child Should Know – Pet Shop Boys

Pet Shop Boys released an album which is pretty much a biography of Alan Turing, the computing genius that helped develop the code and the machine BOMBE to crack Germany’s ENIGMA during World War II. The whole album is an autobiography first performed in 2014 but a new version has been recorded for release this …

Track Of The Day: Early Jive – Killa Maus

Track Of The Day – “Early Jive” @killamausThis track takes the biscuit for the most bizarre track I’ve heard this year. And I’ve heard a LOT of bizarre tracks. But that’s okay because I like bizarre. It starts off with bleeps and boops, there are snippets of audio like birds chirping, a saxophone, piano and handclaps, …

Track Of The Day: Like Michael – Prodbear

This track made me smile as the references to Michael Caine are pretty cool, the cockney accents, the reference to his famous line from The Italian Job. Which is actually misquoted I’m not sure if that’s intentional or not – it’s supposed to be you’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. But probably …

Track Of The Day: Another Star – Stevie Wonder

updated on Leave a Comment on Track Of The Day: Another Star – Stevie Wonder

This week marks 50 years since Stevie Wonder released this phenomenal album. It is a collection of songs that cover social justice, celebrating musical legends, parenthood and just a need to set the dancefloor alight. This song falls into the latter category, it’s got an infectious singalong chorus, percussion going wild, the whole band absolutely …

EDBL, ADY SULEIMAN & DAN WHITLAM – When You Were Mine edbl · When You Were Mine (feat. Dan Whitlam) EDBL is back in the building and suitably kicks things off with a track that’s nice and sparse – bass, guitars, vocals and drums. The bass has a dubby feel to it making it cross …

Track Of The Day: Anything For You – Gloria Estefan And The Miami Sound Machine

I chose this song because in the 1990s when I was at 6th Form we used to spice up the faculty meetings by adding music to it – I’d play the piano for when people came in and then one of my friends would sing, and this is one of our favourites. Why do I …

ANNA RAN – Vultures With Guilt Anna Ran · Vultures with Guilt To open the faves we have a really gentle track in 6/8 time and it’s beautiful! Bathed in reverb this has a prog rock ballad feel to it, and the dreamy sounds of guitars, drums bass and synths really help it along! This …

ANNIE ELISE – Make A Wish Annie Elise · make a wish What I like about this track is the emphasis there is on the electronics, it draws your ears towards the track as a whole! The arpeggiated pattern at the beginning is what caught my attention from the beginning. Add to that Annie Elise’s …
