Track Of The Day: Like Michael – Prodbear

updated on Leave a Comment on Track Of The Day: Like Michael – Prodbear

This track made me smile as the references to Michael Caine are pretty cool, the cockney accents, the reference to his famous line from The Italian Job. Which is actually misquoted I’m not sure if that’s intentional or not – it’s supposed to be you’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. But probably …

Track Of The Day: Adelide – Circles

I was so happy when this made the Listening Post and faves! It was one of those songs that takes you back in time – the first clue is the cassette player opening up, before going into a song that’s got the Roland D-50 bells that were so popular back in 1987-89. It’s scary to …

Track Of The Day: Another Star – Stevie Wonder

updated on Leave a Comment on Track Of The Day: Another Star – Stevie Wonder

This week marks 50 years since Stevie Wonder released this phenomenal album. It is a collection of songs that cover social justice, celebrating musical legends, parenthood and just a need to set the dancefloor alight. This song falls into the latter category, it’s got an infectious singalong chorus, percussion going wild, the whole band absolutely …

EDBL, ADY SULEIMAN & DAN WHITLAM – When You Were Mine edbl · When You Were Mine (feat. Dan Whitlam) EDBL is back in the building and suitably kicks things off with a track that’s nice and sparse – bass, guitars, vocals and drums. The bass has a dubby feel to it making it cross …

Album Review: “Here Because Of Hope” – Ezra Collective

updated on

Ezra Collective dropped a new album! Let’s go. This is how the album opens up, and it’s read beautifully by Letitcia Wright – yep. Black Panther herself.  She approaches the reading with gravity and reverence, and why not? Imagine someone like Sir Ian McKellen or Dame Judi Dench doing a reading? She’s giving it emotion …

Track Of The Day: “First Move” – Lily Ward

Track Of The Day “First Move” @lilywardy my mate Lily Ward dropped a new single on Friday and unsurprisingly it’s a good one! This combines dream pop elements with drum n bass beats, carrying her delicate vocals but don’t let that fool you as because when she hits the chorus she’s in her element – what Lily …

Track Of The Day: “Angels” – Lee”Scratch” Perry X Stephen Marshall X Geo Baddoo

As we cling on the last strands of the summer this track is pretty apt, it’s a chilled reggae track featuring the late great reggae legend Lee Scratch Perry, this is dipped in spicy flavours with the dub feel to it, the bass rumbles through you and you hear Lee whisper a simple line:Singers and …

Track Of The Day: Anything For You – Gloria Estefan And The Miami Sound Machine

I chose this song because in the 1990s when I was at 6th Form we used to spice up the faculty meetings by adding music to it – I’d play the piano for when people came in and then one of my friends would sing, and this is one of our favourites. Why do I …
