Single Review: “Song Of The Year (A History Of Cool)” – Pārvāti

Pārvāti – Song Of The Year (A History Of Cool)

Don’t let the title fool you.

This is not what you think.

No the writer doesn’t have an inflated ego.

First of all, let’s talk about the music, it’s a simple song – nice use of synths, and plods along nicely.

The lyrics are the star here, it’s a look at what’s happened in the last year, the whole issue of climate change and protests about it, and how the world doesn’t know what to do. I like the way lyrics are written – it’s humorous but with a serious message, the lyric video includes facts interspersed within it and I’m here for that – the more we educate the more that it reaches.

Songs about climate change are not a new thing. And it’s not going away any time soon, so this song is adding to the voice and I’m happy about it.

So who’s Pārvāti?

Well her bio makes for interesting reading:

Conceived in a field of snow angels in Montreal and escorted into this world on New Year’s Eve by a doctor in a tuxedo, PĀRVATĪ is dedicated to help everyone celebrate the gift of being alive. A force of Nature with immense cardinal energy hard-wired to serving all beings, she is a chart-topping, award-winning musician, author, yogi, activist, editor-in-chief of Parvati Magazine and CEO of an all-volunteer multinational NGO—and more.

She writes, produces and performs her own songs and has a KILLER FIVE OCTAVE RANGE.

Yes. The caps were intentional. 5. Count it. 1 2 3 4 5 OCTAVE RANGE.

WOW.

She’s using her skills to spread the word and make a change in the world for sure.
