What struck me about this track is how quickly it changed within its 3:32 length. It starts off with a fast paced kick drum giving me the impression that it was going to be a bit of a rock track. But then it settles into a steady rhythm based around a snare, kick and high hat as well as a rhythm guitar. Given the overall flavour of the track with added synths I get the feeling the drums might be programmed and this is okay! Everything comes in and out with tape stops, sudden muted and starts that the song makes you want to go back and listen again.
The lyrics that catch my attention:
“Cause even in my dreams
It’s not what it seems
And even dynasties fall to pieces
I don’t wanna fall
I don’t wanna fall
I don’t wanna fall to pieces.”
