Track Of The Day: Natural Wonders Every Child Should Know – Pet Shop Boys

updated on Leave a Comment on Track Of The Day: Natural Wonders Every Child Should Know – Pet Shop Boys

Pet Shop Boys released an album which is pretty much a biography of Alan Turing, the computing genius that helped develop the code and the machine BOMBE to crack Germany’s ENIGMA during World War II. The whole album is an autobiography first performed in 2014 but a new version has been recorded for release this …

Track Of The Day: Jealousy – Pet Shop Boys

updated on Leave a Comment on Track Of The Day: Jealousy – Pet Shop Boys

In honour of Chris Lowe’s birthday I thought I’d pull this one out of the vault. This is a song from the Pet Shop Boys’ album Behaviour released in 1990 and as a single in its own right in 1991. For those who know me well you will know that I am a pet shop …

AROUND ABOUT DUSK- without you Around About Dusk · Without You This has such a World War II era jazz feel to it, none of the gloss that came later on, but the kind you’d expect in the background of a period drama. This could be playing in the background on a grainy gramophone, at …

AZU YUCHE – Weak Azu Yeché · Weak Azu Yeché opens the faves this week with something a little special.. This has the classic soul around it, I’d even go as far as to say this has neo soul vibes – it reminds me of D’Angelo with those guitar licks! Clean tone! Add to that …

Track Of The Day – “I Want You To Stay” – Carol Jarvis

updated on

Carol Jarvis is back with a tune that showcases both her voice and her trombone playing, she came on my radar with a track called “In My Veins” which was my track of the year at the time it came out. This is a house track, it starts off all atmospheric, before it drops into …

Chillout Track Of The Day “To Face The Truth” Pet Shop Boys

updated on

I recently had a chat online with @weeblade about @petshopboys and it made me think of this song. It was never released as a single, but was on their Behaviour album from 1990. This is typical of that era of the PSBs, it’s moody, and having been recorded on analog synths, it gives off that warmth. Lyrically it’s …

Single Review: “Holding Back The Tears” – Take That

updated on

It’s been 30 years since @takethat released their third album “Nobody Else” and it shows how far things have come. In that time, Robbie Williams left, the band split up some time after that, all had successful solo careers and even reunited – something no one ever saw coming – first without Robbie and then …
