I like the way this begins, the phases in straight into the jangly guitars.. you don’t expect it! This song is a reflection on a summer relationship of some sort, now it’s the winter it’s great to look back on the summer of 2023 now the year is almost over
My favourite par of the song is this lyric:
“I’ve not seen you for a while,
I’m not sure how you’re keeping,
Or if you feel the same way missing when we were sleeping.
What were your dreams like?
Did you climb the moon?
Or were you waiting for the morning
And start the day at noon.”
Then this bit….
“Back in the summer we spent our nights together,
Those sunny days feel far away,
Back in the summer we spent our nights together,
It’s never been better.”
What a way to begin December. Remeniscing about a lovely summer!
Teenagehood, brotherhood and a genuine love for alternative music has united THE GOA EXPRESS from the off. Hailing from the industrial towns of Burnley & Todmorden and adopted by the Manchester culture carriers, their teenage years can be viewed as something of a hedonistic pilgrimage into the underbelly of suburban rock and roll.
