Single Review: “December, Forever” – Big Society

This is a gorgeous song and it’s for charity too! I’ll come back to that in a second….

This is an acoustic number, with a folk leaning. The bass is being played lower down in the neck so it’s more melodic and higher. This sits comfortably within the arrangement of the song, and it makes it all sound really… warm. I could imagine this having a string quartet accompanying this.

I feel seen in this lyric:

“If we go home now, i’ll lose my mind
It gets dark at 6, and the heatings fried.”

I don’t like it now that it gets so dark early in the evenings, I want my long sunny days back.

The outro from 2:55 with the oohs is where I was drawn in, and it makes for a beautiful outro, something for everyone to sing along to at gigs.

December, forever is Big Society’s 2023 charity Christmas release in aid of The Booth Centre, Manchester.
The Booth Centre is a charity helping people who have been affected by homelessness.
