Italian band SōMuch are back with the follow up to “Studio 54” and it’s deliciously infectious! Instead of 4/4 the beat is swung, and they’ve got a horn section blasting the parts…
This song is so catchy, a total party starter, the arrangement is on point… The production is so slick…. I like the way the guitar is syncopated to the beat. There’s even a shouty bit for the crowd to respond to…..
The presence of horns makes it even slicker, and shows that SōMuch has a lot to offer past the beautiful “Studio 54”…
This is the kind of tune you want to put on when getting ready.
You know what I mean, dance when no one’s watching, and strutting your stuff in front of the mirror a combination of Mick Jagger pouts and busting your best moves…
Is that just me?
Yes?
No. I don’t do that…
“It’s Saturday night. Brand new dress, shiny shoes and a carefully chosen perfume. I have something to say, I want to have fun and nothing is going to stop me. The night is young and I’m ready to own it.”
The band declares this loud and clear.
Ralph Rolle is the man behind the boards and brings the best out of the band. This has always been the case, and every time I listen to this song, the pairing to me is a match made in heaven.
SōMuch are an Italian band who officially formed just before lockdown in 2020, and are mentored and produced by none other than the keeper of the beat for Chic Organisation (Yes – THAT Chic Organisation) Ralph Rolle. He became involved in the project when Roby, one of the singers in the band, took the drummer Francesco to Manchester to attend one of Ralph’s workshops as a Christmas present. Ralph was very impressed and took Francesco under his wing as a tutor and mentor, the rest is history.
