Track Of The Day: “Queen Of Queens” – Vanity Fairy

On first listen I thought I’d been transported back to 1984 – neon signs, enough hairspray to destroy the ozone layer, and the ubiquitous Linndrum which I’m suspecting I’m hearing here. This has all the makings of a track made in the nerve centre of Prince’s genius, and it’s done so well! All the funk, the thin piercing synth lead, even his royal badness would have given this the purple seal of approval!

I can imagine this being the track that causes rival dance crews to break out into a dance off in some seedy club in 1984, and they all stop from neon blindness. All in all a solid bit of funk!

This is the title track from an EP due out on 16th October. There are live dates kicking off from the 9th August up till 18th October.

Good luck!

According to her bandcamp bio, Vanity Fairy is the creation of songwriter and vocalist Daisy Capri, a vehicle within which she can escape to a world where disco remains Queen.
