Well! This is pretty spectacular! We have a solid blues jam here, it starts off with a glissando up the piano, underlying it is an organ, giving you that expectation that something cool’s about to happen, the cymbal swells kind of give you a spoiler alter to that. Add to that the double bass…
The double bass introduces us to the main groove at 0:29 along with drums that are being played with brushes the organ punctuates things along with a guitar, and the instruments are introduced slowly you hear the rumbling of the lower notes of a vibraphone but then the party really gets started with the sax.
This has got me bopping my head, I love everything about this track, the progressions, the sophisticated 1960s cinematic feel taking you back to swinging London, I’m pretty sure Austin Powers would love this.
@joshuaidehen introduced me to Yttling Jazz with his reworking of “Illegal Hit”, so he’s not entirely new to me, he’s a composer from Sweden, he’s known for gathering a group of Sweden’s finest bench philosophers and jazz cosmonauts on every third full moon for rapturous jam sessions that go on for days.
This sounds like heaven to me.
