Single Review: “PWMS1” – Robi Theophilus

This track is short and sweet! Clocking in at 0:56 it still has an impact. There’s a lot here. It starts off with a vocal that I suspect Robi’s sampled and is playing back on the keyboard. The voicing of the chords are so cool! Add to that 808 drums, guitar, bass and a piano using some tasty gospel chords and you have a track that doesn’t need much said about it as it’s that quick! What a beauty.

From his Spotify:

Weird. Wonderful.

Caribbean-born and New York-raised, Robi Theophilus (Robert Theophilus Nanton) is no stranger to excellence and diversity. He has managed to work with a multitude of clients and artists, providing his signature sought-after sound while maintaining the artistic vision.

Now, he is committed to his own artistic vision.

Robi draws from many influences, externally and intrinsically. He truly respects all genres, cultures, and persons, and goes out of his way to make his tracks excellence every time.

PS: I love the Charlie Brown homage.
