Track Of The Day: “Authority” – Sharon Katta

Screenshot

Sharon Katta drops a track that combines electronica with a bit of spoken word and he does it in such a way that your attention is held for the whole time it’s playing. His vocals are layered on this with harmonies and he uses them as a pad melding in with the synths… my favourite part of this track is when he starts rapping it goes from calm to a storm and switches back again.

Lyrically Sharon is not afraid to tackle and question authority and hold them to account. No one is safe from his pen and subsequent delivery. The track shows his anger, and at its core this is a protest song, in age where there aren’t that many. The way that Sharon demonstrates this is in the way his voice turns harsh and shouty and back to normal levels it shows the different sides of this track and Sharon’s creativity and it works so well.

What I want to talk about in closing is the fact this is mixed in Spatial Audio. Wherever I move my head the whole sound moves with me.

Genius.
