Single Review: Chinwe – Lately

Chinwe is back, and I’m so glad! This is a track that exudes power from the moment it starts. It’s atmospheric, the drums are chest pounding with two hits on the snare and off tempo flow.

There’s a warble to the sound too, which is so pleasing to the ear, the bass is deep and everything in this track just gives a dark energy but I love it.

Lyrically Chinwe’s looking back on a relationship and wondering how she can change things:

Maybe I can really make a change,

Maybe I can find another way,

Maybe I swallow my pride

Tell the truth, Look in your eyes,

Knowing I caused the pain.

It seems cathartic, and it works.

Chinwe is a singer songwriter that I’ve known for quite a while, she’s rather handy with a harp too live!
