Track Of The Day: “Come Together” – Coastal Fire Dept.

My dudes from Guernsey just dropped a new album today, and I thought I’d review my favourite song of theirs. Just to warn you this gets loud very quickly.

Now the PSA is out of the way, what we are presented with here is a song packed full of punch, Ollie puts the pedal to the metal with his voice but doesn’t go above the speed limit of 25 mph (👀) with this he makes a rallying call for those who love peace and diversity to come together and leave the world’s problems at the door. The idea of this song is to celebrate live music, and how it unites people no matter their colour, background, religion etc.

All of this is happening while Ozzy beats out a rhythm that’s relentless, he doesn’t put in fancy fills but keeps the beat going on snare, kick and toms only adding the fills when necessary. Saad gives us a solid bass rhythm at the bottom echoing what’s going on with the guitar and not deviating from it, nothing flashy so this gives this song more of a punk/grunge hybrid.

This song starts off with a power up and ends on a triumphant gig over note.

This is from their new released album Bonfire Of Fevoured Egos released today.
