Single Review: “Aerial View” – Aloric

This is an acoustic number, in 3/4 with triplets being played on toms… it draws you in so quickly! The thing that caught my ear was the falsetto that dominates the song – it’s on a slow burn, but then you realise the full impact of the song.

The bit that got me was at 2:17 where it builds up to full momentum – drum rolls, cymbal rides, the whole shebang. It’s epic!
These lyrics really are gorgeous:

Carve our lives, all into pieces,
Done here; are you?
And throw like dice, all that we’ve built,
Hope for a seven.

This has such a psychedelic feel, not to mention a bit of Pink Floyd thrown in for good meaure. I keep finding myself going back to 2:17. This is a great piece of songwriting!
