This song soundtracked my walk around Sainsbury’s. It’s gentle, but very dark in terms of the progression and feel though so it’s quite a contrast! This is an acoustic led number, with strings added for good measure, Andrew sings in the higher register but it’s whispered. My favourite part is when the piano and strings join in at 1:18, it lifts the song. The strings wander in and out and there’s a nice double bass in here as well! It goes all cinematic on us at 2:57 which is my favourite part of the song with a lovely viola solo… this is the kind of song I’d say Kate Bush would love to hear!
Andrew Goldring describes his music as scratchy songs for itchy brains.
I like that.
