Single Review: “World Happy” – Michelle Ward

Michelle Ward is back with a new single “World Happy” – I played it on my show and I’m absolutely in love with it. It’s an indie pop tune heavy on the pop elements – catchy melody that brings sunshine – lyrics that get to the point – the world needs more happiness.
First verse:

God’s witness,
You don’t believe
A change is happening,
Sooner than you perceive.

A word about the state of the world:

Fires burning (Is that a nod to the fires in Greece or the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East?)
Prices are high (Cost of living)
News worthy I listen I try (The news has been hard to digest – I guess we are all feeling this)

But Michelle lays it down flat – she just wants to be happy and wants the world to be happy too. This is what it comes down to.

Built around an instrumental using gorgeous synth sounds, guitars, strong drums Michelle’s vocals sit comfortably within this – she harmonises with herself on this and that’s one of my favourite parts of the song. Also the chord progression over the chorus – what a change!

Michelle Ward is a singer songwriter and is a radio DJ at Phoenix FM. This is as a result of her long time collaboration with Ed Rome and as you can hear this is proving to be very fruitful.
