This one is fresh and hot out of the kitchen, and it is so good! This is a Ghanaian worship song which translates to giving God thanks. Minister MOGMusic brings the heat with this half time track, which has a tight arrangement rhythm and vocal wise, there’s a choir on there and the drums and bass are played exquisitely well. But what can I expect from a man who embodies the scripture Psalm 150? I got to hang out with him at the recent CFC convention and he’s a really humble man, and a kind soul who knows how to not only bring the heat on this recording but also bring fire live. The synths at the beginning of the track is what catches my ear, they go through phases and fade up, over a synth lead, and when the intro kicks in with the bass, guitar and synths play a tightly arrangement over the drums coming in. The choice here could have been an afro beat styles but no, the down beat has swapped places.
On this song, the language is swapped from twi to pidgin English, to incorporate a rap vocal in there, and to cross generations there’s an orchestra hit in there too.
I LOVE Orchestra Hits!
If you don’t know about their place in music history do yourself a favour and look it up.What an experience. Check out his track “Wosa Yeyi” too.
