My dude Jamal Bucanon is back with a banger of an indie rock track that had me from the drop. It starts off with a guitar part under Jamal’s mix of rap and singing. Add to that the breakbeat and the passing through of filters and it just gets you bouncing. My favourite part of the song is at 1:29 because the track stops dead and Jamal gives a verbal side eye to his collaborator – then comes back in. It had me chuckling and that’s what sold it to me as my track of the day.
The vocals are very suited to this kind of track it’s got Jamal’s chilled out voice (I know him so I can say this) but at the same time it doesn’t let go of his love for a hip hop groove this could easily have a jungle break to it – big bass lines kicking things off!
