Single Review: “Shadows” – Ben Clifton X Nicoya Polar

This is a jazzy number that’s got me relaxed on a very packed train to work! The piano starts off the proceedings in the lower register, and then it’s joined by Nicoya’s gorgeous voice, she brings so much soul to this. The adlibs before she hits the verse tell you that she’s about to do something really special and boy does she! You could tell where she switches from making her voice into an an instrument she’s singing what I’d imagine to be a saxophone melody it is that vibrant! I want to call out the piano solo at 2:57 oh Lord! So much power and Nicoya brings in that vocal again, with adlibs over the top. Beautiful work
