This is a new one from Manny Norte and Ayanna, and it slaps. This is based around an afrobeat groove, and it’s smooth, you can tell they cooked it up for the summer because it gets you dancing immedately even if your’e not in the mood.
What caught my attention was the Neo soul chord progressions, over that baseline – the keyboards and guitar are static, but the bass and drums are doing the work.
Add to this Ayanna’s voice, she’s singing a hook that will set the dance floors across the world on fire. I can hear this sitting up there with Love Me Jeje by Tems and Water by Tyla for catchiness. I have this on my next show and I might have to pull those two out of the archives just to play them back to back!
