We lost a gospel music giant Richard Smallwood on on 30th December 2025. I first came across this track in the early 2000s when I joined a choir called Many Rivers, through a chance encounter with someone I met while working in King’s Road. I joined as a singer not a keyboard player so I could learn how to harmonise, it was great fun, anyway, this is one of the songs that we learned together – and for me I’d never sung anything so complex, the harmonies swapping over each other it just blew my mind. There were 12 of us, and the sound that came out just blew my mind, I thought you needed a larger choir for this.
