Well! This combines jazz, hip hop, neo soul, a touch of Motown and some gospel into this lovely track! There’s a flute to kick off proceedings over a bass that I’m suspecting is played live on the recording – it’s got some depth to it. Add to that a Rhodes piano and an upright piano, then… a HORN section! I said what I said… yes there’s a Hammond organ on this too.. whoever did the arrangement on this crushed it because at one point the horns play low in the register and come back up to give it that real spice!
But wait… There’s more.
On there’s so much more.
Amanda packed everything including the kitchen sink on this one.
Why?
Because there’s scat vocals on this.
Oh yes.
It comes up at around 2:22 and it’s so sweet as it’s coming up against the background vocals…
What a track to end the week on!
