Single Review: “All Your Life” – Nick Ward

Nick Ward - All Your Life

I’m not sure what it is about this song, but lyrically it caught me off guard.

Why?

Well, the main part of the song says I hope you’re really happy all your life. The first line talks about his birth and how he took a deep breath and started to cry. He then starts to recount parts of his life, I get the fact that the kids singing in the chorus represent him and his friends singing to each other, or better yet him singing to himself through the years of his life, past and future versions of himself… That’s just the romantic in me coming out.

The bit that sticks out to me is the line “When I was nine I wrote to myself, sent the email to open in 13 years says I hope you’re happy all your life.”

That gave me goosebumps!

I think this is a perfect song to lift you up, and know that someone’s rooting for you.

This is from Nick’s new album out in October 2024 “House With The Blue Door”, there are three tracks already available and this is the closer.

And a good one too!
