Word on the street is that Sunflower Thieves have put a pause on the band for now. They are a duo who I’ve been in love with (Musically!) since the release of this gem, their harmonies and lyrics in this song bring a lovely warmth to the soul, and they are one of my favourite discoveries since joining @fotnblog
This is a ballad built around guitar, keyboards and gentle vocals all very wistful, even with a touch of soul but heavy on the folk side.
This speaks of a friendship that endures, even using secret codes of torches at windows – I didn’t realise this until I read the lyrics again. My favourite point of this song is the bridge, and the reason why is because it builds up to a part that lives rent free in my head….
Boodoop boop boodoo doop doop doodoop, just a really simple keyboard riff that will never go away.
I wish the girls well in the future and if and when they come back to this they will always have a fan in me.
