Single Review: “Prince Of The Favela” – Siôr Boyesen

What I like about this is the way it opens….

The drums on this is incredible! It starts off with a stop and start sequence from 0:00-0:21 where it settles into a groove that comes and goes through out the song, the subby 808 bass slides in and we are off to the races!

What we have here is an epic track, horns really filling it out melodically along with some Spanish guitar, the vocals are layered – there’s a megaphone filter, telephone filter, closely mic’d vocals to give it a slightly distorted sound it’s partly rapped, sung and it all melds together.. and the end result is spectacular, this is probably one of my favourite releases in October.

Having listened to the album this is just a taster and it’s the opening track. Yeah they have a new fan in me.

So who’s Siôr Boysen?

Siôr Boyesen is a 23 year old singer songwriter from Llangrannog, West Wales. This track is from his album of the same name and available on all platforms.
