Big drums? Phil Collins style? Jangly guitars with that 80s sheen like Nile Rodgers David Bowie era vibes? Big voice delivering a not unpleasant vocal?
Go ahead.
I’m listening.
This song is about standing up against people they can’t stand to see someone happy. It’s a fun listen, with a great danceable track – I feel like I’m back in the school disco at the end of the summer holiday and everyone’s trying to look cool while drinking their cherryade drink – God how many e numbers were in those??? How did we survive?
Anyway this is a hard hitting track, I think the bass is a synth in the lower range with a bit of sub to give it that hum you feel in your belly. The background vocals with the harmonies are really making me smile, adding depths to the overall thing. Add to that a squelchy synth solo at 1:49 then you have a banger that should have been in the top ten circa 1984.
