To me this is almost the lyrical sequel to the ever beautiful \u201cIn My Life\u201d, given that it revisits Paul\u2019s childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are references to war &#8211; Paul was born in 1942 so the latter half of World War II, and he sings about the sounds of war. But the thing that caught my ear was his referring to smoky bars and cheap guitars &#8211; is that a reference to when he first started playing guitar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This talks about how things have changed, but no one can erase the memories that are left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Someone said that Paul\u2019s voice had aged and not in a good way. I have to disagree, Paul is not the man who belted out hits like Hey Jude (The adlib toward the end is just insane.) or my favourite vocal performance of his Maybe I\u2019m Amazed.
