Following a great few months of live dates and extremely encouraging streaming numbers, as well as support from BBC Introducing and BBC Orbit you could call this a bit of a triumph.<\/p>\n<p>The bassline starts off proceedings at a solid pace, it gives me an 80s synth vibe, then there\u2019s a drum fill that brings in Elena\u2019s flute and Neil\u2019s keyboards, and off to the races we go.<\/p>\n<p>Sherry\u2019s voice is high and pleasant to listen to, and it sounds wistful about the person she\u2019s singing about:<\/p>\n<p>This is me, all shades of light<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re near, when you&#8217;re near<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You take my world and put it to right<\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re near, when you&#8217;re near.<\/p>\n<p>The lyrics are simple and easy to remember, and helped along with the catchy melody, and what a melody too! You don\u2019t often hear Neil March sing, but he provides the background harmony on this, and the overall effect is rich layers .I\u2019m a sucker for harmonies as it is, so when you hear the contrast between his and Sherry\u2019s voice they really complement each other.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Instrumentally Elena\u2019s flute sits comfortably with Sherry\u2019s voice playing the melody, as well as being used in a percussive sense in the chorus, but of course she gets her moment to shine as she plays a little solo at 2:34, over the top of an organ sound.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Overall, this song has such a sunny outlook to it, very playful a true love song that could apply to a friendship or to a relationship that\u2019s just starting out, and is the perfect soundtrack for a summer romance.<\/p>\n<p>They are about to go out and do some live dates and I can imagine this doing pretty well for them on stage!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neil March, Sherry Sahayaraj and Elena Trent are back with a track that\u2019s got a real nice bounce to it!
