Each instrument shines through, the piano playing staccato chords to riff it out. The bass is being played on two strings. Add to that a trumpet solo from 0:35 giving it a jaunty little feel. Add Hiromi\u2019s joyful playing from 1:22, and you know they were having a party in the studio!<br \/><br \/>Bass player\u2019s already giving hints something special is coming by giving us a walking bass then syncopated notes but hold tight because there is a flutter of notes at 2:44 where everything drops back to half time, even the mute for the trumpet gets broken out and boy do they play!<br \/><br \/>In the words of James Brown though.. they have to give the drummer some. And it comes in suddenly!! At 3:27 there\u2019s are broken parts stabbing in and out and it\u2019s such a fun listen lots of dynamics &#8211; oh wait I didn\u2019t tell you this! Apple Music has this in Spatial Audio so I feel like I\u2019m air drumming!<br \/><br \/>Back to the main at 4:27 and then there\u2019s a trade off where the party really gets going, piano trumpet and bass play bars &#8211; it\u2019s not to out play each other but to make each other shine\u2026 it\u2019s making me dance while on my lunch break!<br \/><br \/>Flipping brilliant.<br \/><br \/>This is from Hiromi\u2019s new album out in February, with her band SonicWonder.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First of all, let\u2019s get this out of the way.
