I\u2019m blessed. While the chords and melody are very pretty this hides within it the pain of families breaking up:<\/p>\n<p>My father\u2019s scars were etched upon his skin,<br \/>By his parents\u2019 fighting and the state it left him in,<br \/>They had little choice,<br \/>But the world has spun around,<br \/>So I stand and I raise my voice and I speak these words aloud.<\/p>\n<p>I want to break down what I interpret these words to mean \u2013<br \/>Could it be a reference to the very real self harm as a result of families breaking up and dealing with the trauma?<br \/>The world spins on \u2013 time passing and possibly affecting another generation?<\/p>\n<p>This to me is hinted in the lyrics because homes is plural.<\/p>\n<p>In any case this song has touched me and I\u2019ve awarded it my track of the week.<\/p>\n<p>On visiting <strong>Hannah Scott\u2019s<\/strong> website the first line in her bio is \u201cYour music has moved me to tears.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not surprising.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s a South Londoner like me (SOUTH LONDON CREW!), and she\u2019s been crushing it by all accounts live, she\u2019s got kudos from The Guardian for one thing, Dermot O\u2019Leary, and Clash Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>What a singer. What a voice.
