The drum intro, then a funny little bass run coupled up with a muted guitar played an octave up gives you a modern jazz feel with a little bit of pop in there too. This is a slick bit of production and arranging for sure!<\/p>\n<p>Rikke is a newcomer to my ears and I love her playful vocals, you can tell she&#8217;s influenced by 80s and 90s pop stars, dare I say Janet Jackson with a tone like that?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The lyrics are barbed, digging at disrespectful behaviour possibly in a potential lover or friend, who&#8217;s self centred. No one needs that kind of negativity in their life and it seems that Rikke (Quite rightly) won&#8217;t stand for it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For example, in the first line she points out the subject of the song&#8217;s lack of awareness:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I bet you&#8217;re not even aware up on your high horse,<\/p>\n<p>Content with your day&#8217;s work\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Advising people on everything you&#8217;ve heard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The gossips come under attack with that latter line and it&#8217;s delicious!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All in all this is funky, the harmonies really lay it out for me, and it makes me want to hear more from Rikke.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rikke is a household name in Norway having appeared on reality show &#8220;Over gang vi motes&#8221;, having performed with John Legend at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She&#8217;s also worked with Madcon and Emma Steinbakken. This is the first single from her upcoming album &#8220;Not Even Air Can Come Between Us Now&#8221;. This reminds me of a phrase that Ghanaians use &#8211; &#8220;No water pass&#8221; which means the friendship is tight.
