I met a couple from South Africa and we talked about music. Complete strangers. But the thing that connected us was that I love Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and the late great singers Miriam Makeba and Lionel Petersen. We talked about their impact and for just a brief moment we sang Malaika together. It was heartwarming. This combines gospel harmonies, traditional African percussion, a slick guitar riff that\u2019s really understated\u2026 the thing that hit me was the chorus, it\u2019s so simple, but it\u2019s so effective &#8211; and also when the choir come in fully the second time round, it just puts a big smile on my face. Wow! You can\u2019t help but what want to sing along and dance\u2026 watch out for the clapping because boy you will want to raise your hands in praise&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Having a gospel music background myself this speaks to me physically and spiritually.
