The pulsing synth bass is a real earworm.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I love it. But then it\u2019s joined by a conventional bass which makes me think this is not a bass line as such, but an analogue synth that\u2019s been put through an arpeggiator to give it that feel. Whatever it is, it\u2019s genius.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>But Kar\u2019s voice is so low and husky, and the way she sings about her shortcomings it makes you appreciate the song even more. She\u2019s singing<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> emotionally, and the lyrics show her vulnerability:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When it comes down to it,<\/p>\n<p>Am I a coward?<\/p>\n<p>(I know I let you down)<\/p>\n<p>Will I ever stand up and be\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>counted?<\/p>\n<p>(I&#8217;ll do the same again)<\/p>\n<p>When the walls divide<\/p>\n<p>Which side will you find me on?<\/p>\n<p>(I brought on myself,<\/p>\n<p>I brought it on myself)<\/p>\n<p>And will you forgive me for what I I&#8217;ve done?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like a battle, you&#8217;re fighting yourself because you know you&#8217;ve said or done something wrong and you&#8217;re really kicking yourself for it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I need to shout out the drums on this, lovely ghost notes on this track.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Great tune.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to her website:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\">Kar is a singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist from Scotland she&#8217;s played in orchestras and ensembles, she plays lots of instruments but her favourite is the acoustic guitar.\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nice little drum fill to begin this!
