The disinterested vibe is intentional if you listen to the lyrics that\u2019s all part of the overall story of the song.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cI\u2019m walking through a super market<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">I\u2019m trying to grab myself a bargain<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Hoping for a royal pardon<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">From my queen<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">I put some flowers in the basket<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">I\u2019m hoping that they pass the mustard<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Cos I\u2019ve been such a selfish b-\u2014\u2014d.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Instrumentwise I like the lead synth, the overall arrangement is catchy, especially with the background vocals singing ahhh ahhh\u2019s, the music is strong, and catchy as hell.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">At the end of it all, our hero in the song is trying every last ditch attempt to save a relationship that he doesn\u2019t want to, but hoping he\u2019ll be lucky this time, and it\u2019s\u2026. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Brilliant. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">The band are from South East London like myself, and have garnered support from Steve Lamacq of 6 Music, this is their first release with the support of a label, they\u2019ve also got gigs lined up next month, this will go down a storm I reckon live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Sleaze are: David Ashby<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> (vocals), <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Bede Trillo<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> (bass), <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Jack Fussey<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> (guitar), <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Al Grumble<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> (keys) &amp; <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Phil Lloyd<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> (drums) they consider themselves post pub kebab shop glam rock &#8211; I like a good kebab but I don\u2019t drink but this works for me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"743\" height=\"749\" src=\"https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_C74012B926ED-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_C74012B926ED-1.jpeg 743w, https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_C74012B926ED-1-298x300.jpeg 298w, https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_C74012B926ED-1-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_C74012B926ED-1-60x60.jpeg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 743px) 100vw, 743px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a cracker of a track, the low register vocal reminds me a little bit of Damon Albarn that disinterested tone, but don\u2019t let that fool you because it\u2019s a cracker of a song with lyrics that are pure one liners.
