The acoustic guitar that starts this off has a touch of reverb on it, giving it that spatial feel\u2026 it plays a simple progression but then Aisha\u2019s voice joins it with muted drums\u2026 and what a voice.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She whispers through this and gives you such warmth in your belly. But at the same time, she\u2019s singing about a break up which makes it even more poignant.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cGetting over you is like a lazy river<\/p>\n<p>ride,<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been taking my time,<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been taking my time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This song is sung with a calm that\u2019s quite chilling really. The anger and pain is still there but it\u2019s very near the surface, but it\u2019s never far away.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Very effective songwriting.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is from New York born Aisha Badru\u2019s forthcoming EP \u201cLearning To Love Again\u201d,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>out on 2nd June, quite frankly I\u2019m looking forward to it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Something about this song just gives me goosebumps.
