The 808 sub bass over the sure fire beat works well, there\u2019s a reverse sound that brings the chords, it brings flavour for the track\u2026&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Stand out bar for me:&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\u201cI had a chat with depression last night<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Leave me alone g, you lost!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I\u2019m counting the cost<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Now I think out of the box<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I can\u2019t let another man know that I cried in the middle of the night<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Darkness over the mind<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Shut your mouth cause that\u2019s pride<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Let me thank God I\u2019m alive, I\u2019m alive.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This touches on a subject that is still a bit of a taboo among black people in my opinion and it\u2019s mental health &#8211; Triple O isn\u2019t afraid to go there on this.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Second track in and I\u2019m hooked! I think I\u2019ve found my favourite track so far.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"3\">\n<li class=\"\">Empathise<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Now we are up to track 3, I know where Triple O is going &#8211; this album is introspective- he\u2019s letting all the emotions hang out on it, this is probably one of the most personal albums I\u2019ve heard in a long time.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This song has a fantastic beat, well produced and the guitar solo while short is beautifully played!&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The message in this simple, crying out for empathy, something that we need to get more of in this day and age.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"4\">\n<li class=\"\">Glory (Feat. Jae Eaux and and Becca Folkes)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The epic beginning with the gospel choir singing \u201cGlory\u201d got my attention, plus stellar performances from Becca Folkes and Jae Eaux is what makes this a stand out track from an album of stand out tracks. The hi hats stutter, the bassline sizzles, and it\u2019s a slick production all around.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This could be an epic track live with a full choir.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\u201cWith both hands up high,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I\u2019ll testify,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Eyes to the sky, be glorified,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">With all honour only you that I see<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Praise be to the king.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I love this bit.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"5\">\n<li class=\"\">Kingship&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This comes flying straight out of the hangar! Triple O turns up the tempo and you can tell this guy\u2019s got the ability to spit bars without taking a breath\u2026.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The beat is hot, I\u2019m going to take a guess and say it\u2019s around 130BPM, over it Triple O just hits the ground running\u2026.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">My interpretation of this is that he\u2019s speaking to the youth of today, that they can do better with their lives\u2026. It\u2019s an important message, given what\u2019s happened in the last two years, with the BLM movement making waves, and black people coming out of the shadows to show what they\u2019re capable of.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The verse that speaks to me the most is the hook:<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Kingship<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">never ever let the crown slip<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">black kings we are not kids<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">know better, and do better \u2013 we are better<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">we rise up\u2026 then look at your kingship<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Look at your kingship<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">never ever let the crown slip<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">black kings we are not kids<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">know better, and do better \u2013 we are better<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">we rise up\u2026 then look at your kingship<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"6\">\n<li class=\"\">Drive (Feat. Gracious &amp; Asha Elia)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This has such a bounce to it, the kind of thing you want to start a playlist off with, it\u2019s got a garage vibe but also has a touch of an Afrobeat because when you hear the rim shot it\u2019s off which is a characteristic of that style\u2026&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Again the soulful vocals come in courtesy of Asha Elia, and it\u2019s not just a random hook, the vocals are very well produced making use of her in every way. Gracious references Trocadero &#8211; for those of us who grew up in London this was the spot to be in back in the day! This is one of the strongest tracks on the album.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"7\">\n<li class=\"\">AdultTing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Ahh wordplay! This song I can really identify with. I didn\u2019t sign up for this!&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The word Adulting is definitely a 21st century phrase, and I like the twist that Triple O has put on it, it\u2019s an adult thing = adult ting. AdultTing.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The references to Neighbours (RIP), Eastenders, parts of London I know and still have friends and family.. this is an anthem for those who look back with nostalgia &#8211; the beat is soulful, this is the jam that takes you back to the days of Dre, Snoop Dogg, those vibes they used to throw down, using old school vibes\u2026&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Love it.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"8\">\n<li class=\"\">Louder&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This is based around trap beat, the thing about the way Triple O raps on this is that he has a cadence to it &#8211; let me break it down &#8211; the hi hats in the beat are rapid fire, they stutter, they speed up and slow down, from 16ths to 64ths beats, but the thing is that Triple O follows that rhythm too\u2026 he doesn\u2019t seem to take a breath! Again another anthem I can\u2019t wait to see if anyone take up a TikTok challenge to see if they can do it\u2026.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"9\">\n<li class=\"\">Polo 2.0&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This track is sparse. Drum beat, guitar, bass but instead of synths there are vocal adlibs being used in their place. Triple O is in his reflective mode, and this song is about making it up to a friend, whoever it\u2019s written about he cared deeply for, someone he had history with. It\u2019s just one of those tracks that allows you to look deeper into his mind.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">It\u2019s not easy to put strong feelings into lyrics and I get the feelings out into the mic and it makes me wonder what prompted him to write this.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"10\">\n<li class=\"\">Better Man<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Again, another reflective track. This time it\u2019s a love letter to Triple O\u2019s younger self\u2026 this is evidenced in his first line\u2026<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\u201cRewind the time, I\u2019m dialing to speak to a younger me<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">that\u2019s hurting, residing in darker spaces \u2013 affecting my now as I speak..\u201d&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">It makes for compelling listening.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">It\u2019s a conversation giving himself advice telling himself that this is the reward for changing things this is where he\u2019s at later on in the future\u2026&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I love the trumpet solo outro too, nice bit of jazz.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"11\">\n<li class=\"\">I Need My Daughter To Hear This (Interlude)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This is not a song, this is an short message to Triple O\u2019s daughter, about how her arrival impacted not only his life, but someone else\u2019s &#8211; many years down the line we may never have social media in its current form, but the way that social media has been turned into something negative in recent years, this shows how it\u2019s led into a conversation that\u2019s full of positivity. It\u2019s a really lovely moment frozen in time\u2026 I won\u2019t go too deep into it, but it\u2019s definitely worth listening to just for the message behind it.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"12\">\n<li class=\"\">Family Affair&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">One thing of note, is the creativity around the production of this album, this starts off with a photographer organising a family photo shoot, getting people into position, and then the click of the camera, the detail going into the production is well thought out.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">My favourite lines from this\u2026<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\u201cIt\u2019s a family affair,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Without the T\u2019s and C\u2019s&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Without the talk just deeds,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">It\u2019s a family affair without the T\u2019s and C\u2019s<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Without the talk just deeds,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">With them I get to be me.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Everyone clicks through t\u2019s and c\u2019s without understanding what they actually say, so I guess he\u2019s just saying with this that there is no filter here, no consequences in just being him just being himself.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Definitely one of my favourite tracks on the album.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"13\">\n<li class=\"\">House Into A Home&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This has an Afrobeat vibe. A gorgeous saxophone solo, that\u2019s dipped in reverb and the bassline is sweet too\u2026. Something to dance to! I love the subtle percussion it just makes the groove so much nicer, this is a summer tune for sure.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This is a love song, and one of the strongest moments on the album. S.O. comes in with bars too, and I like the fact there\u2019s just singing. No rap. Just singing.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Beautiful work.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"14\">\n<li class=\"\">My Life<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Another afrobeat track, this time the tempo is kicked up slightly. Triple O has special guests on this and\u2026.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Yeah everyone\u2019s bringing their a-game! It got me dancing in my seat!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">This song has got such a joyful vibe to it, it just urges you to celebrate life in a big way, no matter what you are going through\u2026.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Wow. BANGER!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"15\">\n<li class=\"\">Jesus Is My King&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">You can tell Triple O grew up in the church\u2026. The gospel bassline, reminiscent of the great Abe Laboriel (What do you mean you don\u2019t know who he is???? GET OUT!) follows that path as does the piano part, and the pitch bent organ\u2026. Over that rapid fire beat. This was released as a single ahead of the release of the album and judging by the numbers on spotify it proved to be a bit of a hit with people and with good reason too.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\u201cI don\u2019t really care how the world play,&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">As I give you praise give it all day,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Now let me hear you all say,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Jesus is my king.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The vocoded vocals work really well, reminding me of Teddy Riley, and I love 90s references so this is cool\u2026.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Fab work!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ol class=\"\" start=\"16\">\n<li class=\"\">Rising Again&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">For the album closer, Triple O brings a more chilled out vibe, and it\u2019s like a summary of the album lyrically, from his state of mind currently, to where he is emotionally and relationship wise, talking about his Ghana girl being his muse\u2026. Hey I feel that being from Ghana myself!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Seeing someone I know, Sharyn listed in the credits for this made me smile, very talented singer, I have a lot of love for her!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The words that speak out for me is this\u2026. Bear in mind that the album itself is dedicated to his daughter this is how he closes it out.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\u201cTo my first born<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">To see the moment you were you were born<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">That was beauty personified<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Emotional, didn\u2019t cry &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Skin to skin; now my heart is alive which has given me drive<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Years so far apart, were the worst ones<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I\u2019m writing this so you know that you were the one that made me<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">You came and changed me for better as I think of you daily<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">At the moment of writing this, I don\u2019t know your voice<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I stay calm<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Cause a day is coming soon when we listen back<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Together, and you can ask me the questions<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Then holding you in my arms<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Both singing together dance,<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">taking a last glance of yester-year<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">we stand and address the fear<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I\u2019m never letting go, tear apart every dripping tear<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">the tears I used to cry begin to cease<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">No more asking permission, I get to see you with ease<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Now I feel like a father, I say it and I believe<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">You\u2019re all that I ever wanted and all that I ever need.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">All in all\u2026. 16 tracks. There isn\u2019t one track I want to skip. This a project of excellence and if Triple O wanted to leave a legacy, a message not just for his daughter but for future generations then that\u2019s what he\u2019s done.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Rap music is something that was born out of the oral traditions of Africa &#8211; stories and poems to beats. The talking drum. Music is a very social thing, you can tell your friends to go and listen to something and find solace in it, even David used psalms to calm Saul\u2019s soul and this &#8211; because of the way it\u2019s written, lovingly created, it will leave a mark in Triple O\u2019s story.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">So, what do we know about Triple O? He\u2019s an independent artist from London, a MOBO winner, a musician and to me a true poet.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">I\u2019ve known of him for a very long time, and something told me when I saw his Facebook post that he was releasing an album that I needed to support. As a fellow musician from a church background I understand how hard it is to get your music to the mainstream, if I can help get him heard I will do my best.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">NOW.
