The outro begins at 4:32, the squeal from a pinched string comes back again at 4:41 shows a change in tempo and style\u2026<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s teasing!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Renegade<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The hi hat count off made me jump\u2026 Not quite what I was expecting!<\/p>\n<p>That said though this is a high energy rock song, great harmonies in the chorus\u2026.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What I\u2019m really liking about Tarraska so far is that they have lethal guitar riffle.<\/p>\n<p>And they\u2019re not afraid to use it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a rhythm guitar chugging through, and there\u2019s a lead guitar over the top giving it some\u2026..<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The vocals on this really give me a nice warm feeling\u2026 Not sure what it is.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The way this song changes speed at 3:13 to an extended instrumental section really picqued my interest\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hold up\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Is that finger tapping at 3:24???<\/p>\n<p>Okay.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I see you. I got my eye on you.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Probably my favourite track on the album so far.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shifting Gears<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Literally. Shifting gears. This song is a slowdown in tempo from the pre-<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Oh I see what you did there.<\/p>\n<p>TARRASKA are sneaky!!!!!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What do I mean?<\/p>\n<p>Well, it begins really dark. Lots of crashing on the drums, big build up, power chords, cymbal swell then\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hi Hat count into a fast pace number again!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Good thing I wasn\u2019t holding my tea at this point.<\/p>\n<p>Now this is where I struggle because the innovation of this arrangement has already put this head to head with \u201cRenegade\u201d for my favourite track.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1:46 another beautiful guitar solo. I get the feeling that this band is influenced by guitar legends of the 80s and 90s and I\u2019m here for it\u2026..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Getting Out Alive<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This one gets the energy back up and going,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>and you can really feel the Slash influence in that guitar riffing. The song is epic and definitely one you can hear being performed at Reading Festival\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The close harmonies are nice too!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>White Flower<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oooh. Slowed down tempo\u2026<\/p>\n<p>There is a fair bit of noodling, very contemplative at the beginning on the guitar, with a bit of delay\u2026 there is a switch to acoustic midway through the intro and then the vocals come in, and we are in power rock ballad territory.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And Tarraska carry it off really well.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Trailblazer<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The guitar solo that kicks this off is epic\u2026 this reminds me of major theatrics &#8211; pyrotechnics, thrust stage in the middle of a stadium somewhere\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The vocals are consistent throughout this album by the way, the energy is not lost!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Destined to be a crowd pleaser.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Say No Prayer<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open hi hat count off! Big raw guitar riffs again, I want to note that my favourite part of this song is the chorus. The vocals arrangement on this is fabulous!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Loving the drum sound on this too.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lyrics: <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany years a slave to a backward state of mind,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ignorance to blame,<\/p>\n<p>Yet you\u2019re still in denial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I think this is a song about telling someone to turn away from substance abuse, maybe I\u2019m wrong but this is my interpretation. What ever it is, this song is delivered like a tough intervention.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of the strongest tracks on the album.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Requiem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Second downtempo track on the album, in 6\/8 time, the drums switch from hard snare to rim shot and keeping the song in the pocket\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The vocals are vulnerable and low end of the register in the verse, and really opens up in the chorus\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Powerful stuff.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Down Below<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is anthemic stadium rock at its best you can almost visualise the mosh pit with with this, the guitar riffing is taken another level, making you want to play air guitar\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Is that a cowbell???<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At around 2:09 the key change to accommodate the guitar solo is genius\u2026. The build up and then the guitar\u2019s banshee scream to bring it in is inspired\u2026.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Good work!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Run For Your Life<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The title made me smile\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Why?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This song matches action to words, it literally runs like the wind, the only thing is the vocals are laid back, beautiful performances here from everyone involved! Love the harmonies in the chorus.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prose<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is almost folk and made me wonder if I am still listening to the same band. This is an acoustic number and shows off Tarraska\u2019s acoustic roots. Again this is in 6\/8 made evident by the whole band coming in together\u2026 this is again a very strong track from an album of beautifully crafted songs\u2026 for a heavy rock band they certainly have their gentle moments!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chimera<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From Wikipedia:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A <b>genetic chimerism<\/b> or <b>chimera<\/b> (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Help:IPA\/English\">\/ka\u026a\u02c8m\u026a\u0259r\u0259, k\u0259-\/<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Help:Pronunciation_respelling_key\"><i>ky-MEER-\u0259, k\u0259-<\/i><\/a>) is a single organism composed of cells with more than one distinct <a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Genotype\">genotype<\/a>. Normally, genetic chimerism is not visible on casual inspection; however, it has been detected in the course of proving parentage.[2]<\/p>\n<p>Back to a rocky number to close the album out, the big drum fill absolutely kills it at the beginning; the guitars are suitably distorted and everyone\u2019s at peak performance here\u2026 the chorus is high powered\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nice choice for a closer!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tarraska are a rock band from the south coast of England.<\/p>\n<p>The core of the band gigged acoustically for years whilst steadily writing and performing their original material.<\/p>\n<p>As they started recording, the tracks demanded a heavier sound and Tarraska was born in early 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Tarraska are Jack Lande (vocals and rhythm guitars), Ben Parker (lead guitars), Allan Varnfield (drums) and Ollins Lande (bass)All songs written by J.
