We\u2019re also going to be bringing in our mates RB from Madeline (guitars), and Jesser from Conscious &amp; The Goodness (keyboards) for future projects.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rb and Jesser were with Jimi in a band called Unica for a good while, so they\u2019re well aware of and very much capable of reflecting that \u201cJimi sound\u201d that I will always be looking for in every song we\u2019ll be releasing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"637\" height=\"536\" src=\"https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/unnamed-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4635\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/unnamed-3.png 637w, https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/unnamed-3-300x252.png 300w, https:\/\/platinummind.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/unnamed-3-71x60.png 71w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 637px) 100vw, 637px\" \/><figcaption>From left: RB, Jesser, Demz, Jimi, Nico, and Whey of Unica<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><b>You\u2019re a band from the Philippines, how was the band formed?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I remember giving Gec a very random call, asking if he could help me out on a song I wrote. Jimi, also quite randomly, invited me over for a \u201cfew\u201d drinks a couple of days after (we live really close to each other), and I let him listen to a rough cut of what Gec and I were working on. I asked if he\u2019d like to join in on the project, and thankfully he was all for it. The rest they say is history.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec:&nbsp; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I consider Peachy Dukes as an online band as of the moment. Bon visits me at home often to jam the songs he wrote. It wasn\u2019t possible for us to regularly meet because of the pandemic restrictions. Most of the ideas are sent digitally (audio, video, etc.). As Peachy Dukes, we make music based on \u201cwhat the song is asking for\u201d.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On my end, I listen to a lot of 90\u2019s music up to the early 2000\u2019s alternative rock. However, I don\u2019t limit myself to listening to just a particular set of playlists. I go with whatever genre of music that inspires me with ideas.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Your band name is a colourful play on words what made you come up with it?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wanted a name that would read well internationally, and at the same time reflect our Zamboangue\u00f1o roots. Took me a few days to realize that \u201cpichi duk!\u201d was staring us in the face the whole time. The closest translation I can give is &#8220;go for it!&#8221;, which is quite appropriate, as the saying is usually spoken when encouraging a friend to give it all, no matter how questionable the current situation is.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The phrase perfectly mirrors our \u201cunrestricted\u201d approach to creating and sharing our music. A good laugh we had when \u201cPeachy Dukes\u201d was put on the table. It\u2019s just such a multi-layered name that\u2019s equal parts cultural pride and inside joke. I honestly can\u2019t think of naming ourselves something else.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Congratulations on the success of \u201cSomething Again\u201d, what\u2019s the story behind the song?&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wanted to write a song that people could attach their feelings of being in the \u201cin-between\u201d to; that place you find yourself in when you want to leave something but can\u2019t, because no matter how destructive or chaotic your life is because of that \u201cthing\u201d, you remain inexplicably drawn and attached to it. So whether it be a person, a habit, or what else have you &#8211; that\u2019s Something Again.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a more personal level, it\u2019s about my\u2026susceptibility to alcohol, and how I can\u2019t seem to say \u201cno\u201d to the circles and situations around it, despite being fully aware of my \u201ctendencies\u201d when under its influence. I love how Gec and Jimi captured the feel of that \u201cin-betweeness\u201d, in that the song isn\u2019t overly happy, but isn\u2019t obviously sad either.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I fell in love with the idea of putting ideas on this song. I\u2019ve been in different bands for quite some time, but I never had the opportunity of laying down guitar parts freely. It was more of a learning experience for me.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spotify Embed: Something Again\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"80\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/5aOJRShR8McLEppcWh1NWm?si=b6a8e3b010aa4a6c&#038;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><b>It\u2019s received airplay around the world, how does that feel?&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Won\u2019t lie. Feels awesome!&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s my\/our first since forever! I\u2019m still stoked!&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>What\u2019s surprised you most about how it\u2019s been received?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That it\u2019s being received in the first place! I mean, sure, you believe that you had just made a good song, and you\u2019d dream that people will listen to it and like it. But when it actually happens? It\u2019s incredible.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personally, I\u2019ve lowered my expectations because there are a lot of artists. But I do have faith in \u201cSomething Again\u201d. Bon is an amazing songwriter!&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>The song has a great melody, and makes the listener want to check out your music, how does a typical writing session begin?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being a dad, husband, and day-job employee, <\/span><b>&nbsp;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t usually have enough time to really sit down and focus on writing.&nbsp; When the ideas come in, I just whip out the phone and hit record, then piece them together later, or whenever I can. It\u2019s funny when these ideas come, because they\u2019re usually in the middle of work, or someplace awkward. So if by chance you see me singing into my phone while facing a random wall on the street &#8211; you know what\u2019s up.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Adding up ideas becomes easy because Bon paints us a picture of the song already. After brainstorming, we just keep the ideas and parts which sound \u201cenough\u201d for the song.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>COVID impacted the creative industry in a big way what kept you motivated?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wouldn\u2019t call it a plus, but the pandemic in some odd way, brought me back to music. Before CoViD hit, I stayed away from music for a very long time. I don\u2019t know, man\u2026the pandemic took away so many things from everyone\u2026but it somehow put to light the things that really matter.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technology played a huge part in motivation. It made me aware of the vast resources for recording. Experimenting with digital recording forced us to somehow squeeze creative juices til the last drop. \ud83d\ude05&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>The last couple of years has been a time to reflect what have you learnt about yourselves?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think I\u2019ve finally accepted that I will always want to make music. Even if it\u2019s not a practical career path, I think I\u2019m going to go down this road, and just hope for the best.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The pandemic taught me to be resourceful; that there is still a way to do music in spite of COVID.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Did you pick up any new skills?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I\u2019ve upped my game in avoiding crowded places. Does that count? \ud83e\udd23<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve learned to maximize the things I can do with GarageBand. \ud83d\ude05<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>What are you listening to at the moment?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Bon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lately I\u2019ve been listening to a lot of Work Drugs, along with my usual serving of Softcult, and Holly Humberstone \ud83d\udc98&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Gec: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New releases from Tears for Fears, revisiting tracks from Eve 6, and tracks from Dixie and Addison Rae!&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>What are you looking forward to next?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Bon: <\/b>Our future releases!
