Thankyou so much for asking.<\/strong><\/p>\n Congratulations on the release of \u201cStudio 54\u201d how does it feel?<\/strong><\/p>\n Oh, thank you<\/span>!<\/span>\u00a0It\u2019s really a wonderful and exciting experience. I love the fact that our ideas have come to life in a such powerful way<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and it feels like we did something very special, something that will last forever in our minds<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>hearts<\/span>\u00a0and the lives of the people that hear our music<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s a tribute to the 1970\u2019s,\u00a0New York City and in particularly famous\u00a0nightclub,\u00a0Studio 54. What inspired you to come up with this track?<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u00a0<\/span>absolutely<\/span>\u00a0love the 70s: The sound<\/span>\u2026<\/span>even the style\u00a0<\/span>and mystique\u00a0<\/span>of those years. We identify ourselves so well with that kind of music<\/span>, So,\u00a0<\/span>when it<\/span>\u00a0was time to write the lyrics of this song,\u00a0<\/span>our<\/span>\u00a0imagination<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0drove\u00a0<\/span>us\u00a0<\/span>right there: To New York and Studio 54. The words came out so easily.\u00a0<\/span>We<\/span>\u00a0just wanted to bring people back to the days of\u00a0<\/span>D<\/span>isco.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You\u00a0are\u00a0part of the band\u00a0S\u014dMuch.\u00a0How did the band come together?<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes, I\u2019m one of the two singers.\u00a0<\/span>Myself (Roby) and Vale.\u00a0<\/span>Afte<\/span>r the<\/span>\u00a0many years of playing together as a cover<\/span>\u00a0band, the need\u00a0<\/span>for us<\/span>\u00a0to write our own songs<\/span>\u00a0came about. We wanted a<\/span>\u00a0retro flavour but with a new sound. So<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>our producer came up with a new genre,\u00a0<\/span>Retr\u014d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>N\u016bV\u014d<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n S\u014dMuch\u00a0was officially born in 2020 just before the pandemic, with the support\u00a0and production\u00a0of Ralph Rolle, drummer for Nile Rodgers and Chic.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n What were your influences starting out?<\/strong><\/p>\n All\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>D<\/span>isco\u00a0<\/span>m<\/span>usic of the 70s and early 80s: Chic, Kool and the Gang, Earth, Wind and Fire, Sister Sledge, K<\/span>C\u00a0<\/span>and the Sunshine\u00a0<\/span>B<\/span>and, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor and\u00a0<\/span>so\u00a0<\/span>many others.<\/span><\/p>\n You are connected to Ralph Rolle, drummer for Chic, how did that happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n In November<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a02017<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and\u00a0<\/span>came across an advertisement:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Ralph Rolle, the dru<\/span>mmer for Nile Rodgers and Chic,\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0giving one-to-one\u00a0<\/span>drum lessons<\/span>\u00a0in England.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>So<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0I decided to get a special Christmas gift for Francesco, our drummer<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n On the 7th of December<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0we flew from Italy to Manchester, England\u00a0<\/span>where<\/span>\u00a0w<\/span>e met Ralph<\/span>. We became instant<\/span>\u00a0friends.\u00a0<\/span>He said that Francesco was already a very good\u00a0<\/span>drummer<\/span>and he took him under his wing to guide and mentor.<\/span><\/p>\n October 19, 2019, magic happens<\/span>\u00a0on our second visit to see Ralph<\/span>. Francesco and I asked Ralph to listen to a demo of a song written by our guitarist Andrea\u00a0<\/span>Giovannini<\/span>\u00a0called, “You Gave me Love”. Ralph was literally thrilled by what he<\/span>\u2019d<\/span>\u00a0heard and asked if he<\/span>\u00a0could produce the song. He offered to fly to Italy to produce the track! So<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0everything started by pure chance and then it became a beautiful reality.<\/span><\/p>\n He also helped with the production of two of your tracks. What was the best advice he gave you?<\/strong><\/p>\n It began<\/span>\u00a0with two track<\/span>s<\/span>. W<\/span>e now have five finished songs for our first EP and Ralph worked with us on all five tracks. He\u2019s known as a great drummer, but believe me, he\u2019s a great producer too. The best advice he gave us: \u201c<\/span>A<\/span>lways believe in what you do<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>what<\/span>\u00a0you love and work hard<\/span>\u00a0so you will make things happen!\u201d. I’m writing lyrics for a new song about this very concept. But Ralph doesn’t know it yet\u00a0<\/span>\ud83d\ude02<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n You all wrote music during the pandemic.\u00a0What challenges and positives did you find during this process?<\/strong><\/p>\n Suddenly we had a lot of free time being at home\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>do\u00a0<\/span>nothing. This turned out to be a very positive thing because we had a lot of time for writing and experiment<\/span>ing<\/span>. The\u00a0<\/span>big\u00a0<\/span>challenge was<\/span>\u00a0doing all\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>this without being in the same room together. Bu<\/span>t\u00a0<\/span>we found the balance.\u00a0<\/span>The synergy.\u00a0<\/span>After almost two years<\/span>\u00a0of being locked away from each other,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>pandemic<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>brought\u00a0<\/span>very\u00a0<\/span>positive feelings and\u00a0<\/span>so much\u00a0<\/span>more motivation to bring our music out to the world.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favourite song from the writing so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favourite\u00a0<\/span>song out of the 5\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cYou Gave me Love\u201d. It\u2019s our very first track and I\u2019m so proud of it. I think it<\/span>\u00a0is a very<\/span>\u00a0cool\u00a0<\/span>song\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>a very\u00a0<\/span>danceable song.\u00a0<\/span>It\u2019s a great song to roller-skate to<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0as well. \u00a0<\/span>But you know, every<\/span>\u00a0one<\/span>\u00a0of us has a different preference about\u00a0<\/span>the songs<\/span>. I think our new release \u201cStudio 54\u201d has got everyone o<\/span>n the same page.<\/span><\/p>\n COVID impacted the creative industry in a big way, what kept you motivated?<\/strong><\/p>\n It was a terrible time for\u00a0<\/span>all<\/span>\u00a0of us. We couldn\u2019t play and create music together.\u00a0<\/span>However,<\/span>\u00a0we didn\u2019t\u00a0<\/span>stop<\/span>\u00a0nor did we give up<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>We became closer and more focused.\u00a0<\/span>Our musicians (Andrea\u00a0<\/span>Giovannini<\/span>, Francesco\u00a0<\/span>Carli<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Andrea\u00a0<\/span>Belloni<\/span>) came<\/span>\u00a0up\u00a0<\/span>with new ideas<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>every week\u00a0<\/span>which kept our<\/span>\u00a0motivation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>high. The only way to go forward\u00a0<\/span>was to<\/span>\u00a0always do<\/span>\u00a0something\u00a0<\/span>creative\u00a0<\/span>and so we did. We waited patiently until\u00a0<\/span>for 18 months\u00a0<\/span>to complete\u00a0<\/span>our<\/span>\u00a0first EP and\u00a0<\/span>our\u00a0<\/span>debut<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>release<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201dStudio<\/span>\u00a054\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n 2020 was a time to reflect. What did you learn about yourselves?<\/strong><\/p>\n This is a very good question, Del. After the last recording session<\/span>, we\u00a0<\/span>all talked about and\u00a0<\/span>thought<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>about how the pandemic<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>changed our\u00a0<\/span>music and our writing style<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Our sound<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is more defined<\/span>, more intense and\u00a0<\/span>our listeners and fans<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will be able to\u00a0<\/span>
