{"id":1804,"date":"2020-08-24T10:07:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-24T10:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/platinummind.net\/?p=1804"},"modified":"2020-08-24T13:56:12","modified_gmt":"2020-08-24T13:56:12","slug":"single-review-rebound-bad-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/platinummind.net\/index.php\/2020\/08\/24\/single-review-rebound-bad-money\/","title":{"rendered":"Single Review: &#8220;Rebound&#8221; &#8211; Bad Money"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Rebound&#8221;, the new single from Birmingham based duo Bad Money is the follow up to their brilliant single &#8220;Ashes&#8221; which I reviewed for Fresh On The Net in July this year. <a href=\"https:\/\/freshonthenet.co.uk\/2020\/07\/interview-bad-money\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/freshonthenet.co.uk\/2020\/07\/interview-bad-money\/<\/a> I&#8217;ve been keen to keep an eye on this band as they&#8217;ve got a really lovely sound that I&#8217;ve connected with and even had the honour of remixing too. The new single builds on their accessible pop sound, the vocals give you a catchy melody, over 80s synths and electronic drums (Love those toms by the way). In the bio for the song I&#8217;m told that it&#8217;s about coming out of a long term relationship, something people can relate to, and they were going for a summery dance vibe, congratulations guys you tick all the boxes on this, if this was performed live you could tell where the backing band could put lots of stop\/start breaks, it would sound amazing with a horn section to augment the synth stabs in my opinion. Nice guitar solo to play it out and a chorus that won&#8217;t quit. All in all a worthy follow up to &#8220;Ashes&#8221; thus keeping up the momentum.
